EASTERN CARIBBEAN CRUISE

We just recently got back from a Eastern Caribbean cruise with friends. We were on "Celebrity Millennium" and stopped in 4 places - Domican Republic/Puerto Rico/St. Thomas/Bahamas. We had the best time.....

We each have a child that we left home with the grandparents and it turned out fine....
At first - the girls were sad to leave the children at home but we quickly got preoccupied with the millions of things to do on the ship and the island stops. It wasn't till the last day with all the travels back that we felt ready to go home and see our babies. We all found out that our children did very well after the time away and loved the new surroundings and of course the grandparents did not mind! I had to pry Talya from my parents after the week was through.

DAY 1 - AT SEA
It was the greatest weather that day - off and on rain - so we used that time to explore the ship, go to the spa and soak in the jacuzzi. We had our first formal night that evening as well and got dressed for the occasion.

Me and the girls (Liz and Aimee).. we went to a club on the ship that night 1/2 hour before dinner to hang out and grab a pre-drink. It was nice...

Randy and I enjoyed the cruise together - it was nice to have a break from the normal routine.....

DAY 2 - DOMICAN REPUBLIC

The 2nd day of our trip - the ship stopped at Domican Republic and as you can tell the weather was beautiful....
We went to a all-exclusive resort for the day by Hilton. We would love to visit that resort again someday - it was very nice.

After we got back from our day at the resort we were all starving since we had not had a lunch... just brunch and that was it.... so we scuried ourselves over to the buffet area at about 5pm. They serve tea sandwitches, pizza and deserts at that time. We did not want to fill ourselves up to much because we were heading to the Olympic Restaurant that night. Unfortunately - we still filled ourselves up a little to much - not realizing all the food you get at the Olympic...

Almost dark now...

We all split up that night as couples to try the Olympic Restaurant on the ship instead of the normal dining room (that is still sooo good) but we heard the food here was amazing too and so we wanted to give it a try. It was amazing - you have 5 waiters in charge of different aspects of your meal that wait on you and so much items in between your usual dishes..... (Appetizer/bread/sorbet/fruit/dinner/cheeses/assorted candies/desert). WOW - we were ready to roll into bed by the time that meal was finished. The presentation was amazing and the food was so tasteful! I ordered rack of lamb for the 1st time and it was out of this world - I don't know why I did not try it earlier. It was wrapped in a pastry with mushroom sauce.... Randy got steak and his was very good too...
We both got goat cheese soufle for appetizer and it was the best! YUM!

DAY 3 - PUERTO RICO

One day three we entered San Juan, Puerto Rico. The weather was gorgeous again! Randy and Andrew went golfing for the day since both are avaid golfers. The rest of us did some sight-seeing of Old San Juan..... the city reminded me of Europe except with more brightly colored buildings. The town was quint and nice... we enjoyed walking through it and checking out different sights...

Of course, we stopped to get a picture - the walls you see in the background are very old. They were built all around the city to protect the city from pirates and other countries. It worked most of the time...

DAY 4 - ST.THOMAS/ ST. JOHN

We took a ferry to St.Thomas because the port was full of ships when Celebrity got there so we had to tender to shore. We then took another ferry that we going to take us to St. John for the day. We wanted to go over to St. John for a while because that is supposed to be awesome and now we know why. Breathtaking! Although St. Thomas is breathtaking too. It was our favorite stop of the trip and would love to go back fo stay for a week.

The ferry was a very rough ride but I thought it was adverturous! We stood up at some points and hung on for dear life for fun... like shown in pics below... with Liz....

We then took a bus after the ferry around the island while we drove to Trunk Bay.... we stopped at overlooks to take pictures and admire. In this overlook there is a Hotel below.... I forget the name right now....

We then stopped at an overlook to see Trunk Bay - which is where we were ultimately headed to. It really does look like the pic only better - it seems like you are staring at a painting... it is one of the top 10 beaches in the world - which is why we wanted to visit it!

We then snorkeled the island that you see.... they had an underwater trail that you followed with signs telling you what you were looking at - it was a neat experience.

It was the most blue water I have ever seen and I have been to alot of islands. (Grand Caymon was nice but it was more of a teal color and Jamaica more clear that you can see straight through.)

Bye-Bye St.Thomas - you will be the most missed :( St. Thomas was sooo nice and there is lots to do on both islands and because it is US islands you can wander around the island safetly - we definitely want to go back!

Ready for dinner that night at a club just outside of our entrance to the dining room. We loved it there and one night all got together after dinner for the gals to order a Martini flight - which is 6 different small Martinis to try. It was nice to get a sampling.

DAY 5 - AT SEA
That day we relaxed and read by the pool while the men played some games and walked the ship

we are in one of the lounges that the ship offered.... for a predrink before dinner...

We went to see the midnight buffet after out dinner but of course weren't hungry. It was only to admire :) and it was very pretty!

DAY 6 - NASSAU, BAHAMAS
We each went our seperate ways that day.... the one couple Aimmee and Chad walked through Nassau while Andrew and Liz took a taxi to Paradise Island and checked out Atlantis and town. Randy and I took a taxi over to Atlantis too to go to the beach.
We had to walk through the lobby of Atlantis and got to see some of what this grand Hotel looks like...very neat.... part of Atlantis below...

Randy is enjoying the waves. One of the ladies that worked there said it was worse than normal that day because it was high tide and the current was up. I have never been to Hawaii but I looks like some pics of Hawaii with their big waves. It was upexpected of what we would of thought of the beach there. The waves were just huge and Randy tried to swim for a while in it and came back 10 minutes later saying how much it pulls you and throws you down to the ocean floor if you don't swim through the wave. He loved it.... it was not my kind of ocean so I stayed away (except for my toes). I did love the beach though.
